Still/born puts an intriguing psychological spin on its supernatural horror story, elevated by standout work from star christie burke. And not just me, i’ve heard all sorts of horror fans looking forward to still/born. I feel this film is most enjoyed when you don’t try and figure it out and you simply let the unnerving atmosphere just wash over you.
The movie boasts gorgeous suburbiscape shots, sharp editing, and some tactfully startling scares. Christie burke does an excellent job in the role of a mother suffering with the loss of one of her twins who was born dead. The trailer for still/born was almost a horror short film in itself.so yeah, the trailer alone made my expectations for this movie pretty damn great.
Ok look, with a title like this, most people would avoid a film like this with still/born in the movie title. The music is professional, the acting is professional, the cinematography and the camera trucks and the pacing and the actors are all professional, professional, professional. Christie burke is phenomenal as mary.

But, in my opinion, its atmospheric success is in cultivating the dreadful “need” to just actively stare at some scenes just waiting to see something move in a dark hallway or baby cam video footage. As others have observed, there is nothing new or original in still/born. The transitions from the mundane real world to the supernatural are effective, as is the performance by burke, who must balance the competing roles of a mentally unstable individual vs.

For many, being or becoming a parent can be scary. There were a number of entries in the weekend that set their stall out nicely, but never quite hit the resolution that was expected. While taking care of her remaining child, adam, she suspects that something, a supern.
